A really nice photo by Daniel Kordan, but something about its composition was off, it felt somehow disbalanced. It took me a while to figure out that the ridge the church sits on looks better if it's cropped a bit so that its beginning falls out of the frame.

Colorwise, I thought a bit more painterly look could be appropriate, and I increased the contrast. Oh, and I removed all the tourists that were milling about.

So relaxing.

Another photo where I replaced the sky - just the blue gradient was too bare for my taste. I tried to find something that would compliment the church, and bring attention to it. I think I succeded.

This photo is, like, 'Wow.' The sense of scale is amazing. One of my favorites for a wallpaper.

I reframed it so that there is no sky in the frame, which makes the background mountain look even more imposing. I also sharpened it somewhat and desaturated it slightly, as I think that brings out some more detail, and enhances the 'gathering storm' atmosphere.
