Like the Antarctica photo, I desided to turn this image into something darker, both so it's more neutral as a wallpaper, and to emphasize the beautiful Alpenglow that makes this photo. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough info in the sky to do it right - some awful banding started happening - so I decided to replace it. Now, sky replacement is almost always tricky and hard to do. Not necessarily in the technical sense - you just have to make a good foreground cutout - but in the selection of the replacement sky. If you don't choose something that matches well with the foreground in terms of lighting and general feel, the replacement will be pretty obvious. Cloud type is also important, especially near the horizon. It's best to be subtle.
Here, I chose the sky that looks as similar as possible to the original sky (when darkened).
